As the official truck provider of the LPGA’s feederSymetra Tour, Penske rental trucks will travel through much of the continental U.S. during the upcoming golf season and log 12,620 miles transporting golf balls, scoreboards, tee markers, standards and more.

“We’re happy to continue serving as a Symetra Tour sponsor and watching future LPGA players enjoy success,” stated Kevin Kleckner, Penske director of national consumer sales and programs.

Here are a few highlights:

  • The Symetra Tour’s schedule has grown from 15 events in 2013 to 23 in 2015, the most in 27 years. There are seven new tournaments in 2015.
  • The first road trip is the longest one: 2,179 miles from Daytona Beach, Florida, to Mesa, Arizona, for the Gateway Classic at Longbow Golf Club (this weekend). After a 300-mile trip to Beaumont, California, for the Volvik Championship the following week, the operations team will drive nearly 2,500 miles from Beaumont to Daytona Beach, Florida.
  • Penske trucks will stop in 14 different states and travel through a total of 35 states during the season.

“With growth comes a need for reliable transportation to get all the necessary equipment from golf course to golf course and our Penske trucks always deliver,” said Mike Nichols, Symetra Tour chief business officer.

The Symetra Tour will begin its 35th season. The top-10 money winners earn placement on the 2016 LPGA Tour.
