Penske Named a Top 100 Military Friendly Employer

Penske has been named to G.I. Jobs magazine’s Top 100 Military Friendly Employers® list.

The magazine recognizes military friendly companies that demonstrate commitment to recruiting America’s veterans.

In a news release, Sean Collins, senior brand manager for G.I. Jobs, said, “Appearing on the G.I. Jobs Top 100 Military Friendly Employers list is recognition of these companies’ hard work and their allocation of resources to recruiting from this invaluable employee base.”

A first-time recipient, Penske ranked 83rd on the overall 2012 Top 100 list and 10th among the transportation sector. According to the publication, only the top 2 percent of all eligible corporations are named to list annually.

“We’re pleased to be included on this year’s Top 100 Military Friendly Employers list,” said Ken Hurley, senior vice president of human resources for Penske Truck Leasing. “We make a concerted effort to recruit and hire veterans, as their contributions to Penske are invaluable. In 2012, we will participate in several job fairs to target transitioning military members — primarily at bases with large transportation commands — to help fill positions such as technicians/mechanics, vehicle maintenance supervisors/managers, drivers, sales and customer service.”

Penske also promotes employment opportunities in other military publications, on veterans’ job boards, and through exclusive partnerships with military friendly organizations.

  1. I rented a Penske box truck from the Home Depot in Natick, MA. I was greeted by Doug Scott, the Tool Rental / Vehicle Rental Manager. Scott was exceptionally professional and friendly. The truck was very clean and in excellent condition. I would highly recommend this facility for renting a cargo vehicle. I mentioned to Scott that I was a veteran and was treated like a king. I would definitely rent from them again!
