Paralyzed Veterans of America to Honor Penske Truck Rental

Penske Truck Rental is proud to announce thatParalyzed Veterans of America (PVA) has selected the organization to receive theAchieve: ABLE Award, for its continued financial support of PVA’s mission to ensure disabled veterans have access to health care, benefits and jobs. The award will be presented to Penske Truck Rental at the 2015 Mission: ABLE Awards that take place October 6, 2015.

“We’re proud to honor Penske Truck Rental for all the support they’ve provided to our organization,” said Al Kovach, Jr. national president of Paralyzed Veterans of America. “This award is just one way to say thank you for their continued commitment to our mission of ensuring that disabled veterans have all the resources they need to thrive after serious injury.”

In 2013, Penske Truck Rental launched its #OneWay4PVA Mission: ABLE campaign. The program invites Penske’s rental customers to donate $1 or more to the PVA when renting a one-way moving truck. The company matches each $1 donation. As of June 2015, Penske Truck Rental's #OneWay4PVA effort has raised $870,275.

Penske Truck Rental is a business unit of Penske Truck Leasing, Co., L.P.

"The Penske organization has a strong commitment to veterans and a sincere appreciation for their service,” said Brian Hard, President and CEO of Penske Truck Leasing. “We are honored to be recognized by Paralyzed Veterans of America with the Achieve: ABLE Award. We thank our associates for their efforts to promote the awareness of our ongoing fundraising efforts. We especially thank our valued consumer truck rental customers for their support of PVA."

Penske Truck Rental has also further supported the Paralyzed Veterans Golf Open, Mission: ABLE Awards dinner, National Veterans Wheelchair Games, and Paralyzed Veterans Racing through additional sponsorships and in-kind truck rentals.

The annual Mission: ABLE Awards raises funds to benefit PVA programs and services, all of which are provided free to veterans. Last year, a record-breaking $900,000 from corporate supporters was raised in support of the mission through the Mission: ABLE Awards.
